Leadership
Deryck Dowding is an experienced business leader and technical professional with more than two decades of experience in surveying, technical services, and operations management. Since co-founding Total Precision Surveying in 2012, he has played an important role in the company's growth and development. Deryck served as Vice President from 2012 to 2020 before becoming President in 2020, providing strategic leadership and direction for the company. Throughout his career with Total Precision Surveying, Deryck has built a reputation for professionalism, practical problem-solving, and dependable leadership. His broad technical background and hands-on experience allow him to support clients with knowledgeable guidance, reliable solutions, and a strong commitment to quality service.
Gary Wilson is a seasoned construction and surveying professional with nearly 30 years of experience. He is a graduate of Sault College, holding diplomas in Construction Engineering Technician and Architectural Engineering Technician. Throughout his career, Gary has built a reputation for professionalism, accuracy and attention to detail. His extensive hands-on experience, combined with strong technical knowledge, allows him to provide practical solutions and high-quality results for a wide range of projects. Gary is committed to exceptional client service and takes pride in delivering dependable expertise that clients can trust.

Founded
Jim Shook and Deryck Dowding along with the Sault staff decided to part ways with NSS Canada and form Total Precision Surveying. TPS has since been a staple in the surveying industry across Canada and abroad.
New Location — 178 Drive In Road
TPS moved from 35 Cedar Street to their new location at 178 Drive In Road. With our new showroom, workshop, repair centre and office, TPS was moving in the right direction for expansion.
In-House Manufacturing
Started manufacturing in house surveying accessories at our new location.
